What We Offer
We are one of Lincolnshire’s five local authority, maintained nursery schools and the only one in the Boston area. Ofsted rated us as a ‘Good’ nursery school at our last inspection. We provide quality first, teacher-led, early years education and teach 2, 3 and 4-year-olds during term time. We have an exciting and engaging curriculum designed to accelerate your child’s learning and give them the head start they need to be school ready when they begin primary school. We also have a forest -school-inspired Jubilee Owl Garden where children learn in a natural space and develop skills and knowledge that are best acquired from hands-on, outdoor experiences.
If you would like your child to join us here at Boston Nursery School, simply complete the online form to register your interest (click here) and we will contact you to arrange for you to collect your application pack and book a tour of the nursery school if you would like to look around . Alternatively, you can call us direct on 01205 358647, or email us at admin@boston-nur.lincs.sch.uk
Little Owls
Our Little Owls (2-year-olds) have their own homebase – a room all to themselves - and an outdoor space too!
Children can attend mornings (8.45 am – 11.45 am) or all day (8.45am – 2.45 pm). Children need to bring their own packed lunch if they are staying all day.
Some families may be entitled to 15 hours, free, early years education and care. Please visit www.childcarechoices.gov.uk to find out if your 2-year-old child is eligible. If you are not entitled to free funding, your 2-year-old can still attend our nursery for a cost of £15 per session.
We also have a breakfast and afterschool club (from 19th February 2024) so we are able to offer childcare from 7.45am to 5.15pm to wrap around your core sessions.
This provision is staffed by highly-qualified teaching assistants who are very experienced in early years. Our lead practitioner is also a national award-winning practitioner, having won the Nursery World Nursery Practitioner of the Year in 2022.
Big Owls
Our Big Owls (3 and 4-year-olds) play and learn in our large, pre-school room. They also have access to a large outdoor classroom, and children can choose to play inside or outside at different times throughout their sessions.
Children can attend mornings (8.45 am – 11.45 am) or full days (8.45 – 2.45 pm). Children need to bring their own packed lunch if they are staying all day.
We also have a breakfast and afterschool club (from 19th February 2024) so we are able to offer childcare from 7.45am to 5.15pm to wrap around your core sessions.
All 3 and 4-year-olds are entitled to 15 hours free early years education each week. This is for 38 weeks of the year. This free funding begins the term after their third birthday. If your child’s third birthday falls between April and August, they would access their free funded sessions from the following September. If their third birthday falls September to December, they can access their free funded sessions from the following January. If their third birthday is between January to March, they would access their free funded sessions after the Easter break in April.
Some working families may also be eligible for 30 hours free early years education each week. Please visit www.childcarechoices.gov.uk to find out if your child is eligible. Even if your child is not entitled to this additional funding, your child can still come to nursery for up to 30 hours each week as we charge £15 for each additional 3-hour session for 3 and 4-year-olds.
We offer a flexible arrangement for you to use your 15 hours, free funded place. For example, your child can come every morning, or two and a half days, or one full day and three half days. YOu can also use your funding to access breakfast club and after-school club.
You can choose which days suit your family and we will do our best to accommodate your needs, based on places available.
Additional sessions can be bought using cash, cheques or tax-free childcare/credits. All additional sessions must be paid for in advance.
